Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Finance is the municipal officer assigned the responsibility of financial administration for the City of Colwood. This position advises City Council on financial administration and is responsible for the direction, management and coordination of the Finance Department’s activities. The ideal candidate for this rewarding position will possess a Professional Accounting Designation (CA, CGA or CMA) or equivalency; and at least ten years of recent, related financial/accounting experience, with the more recent years in senior positions comparable to this position, preferably in a municipal environment. We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and results-driven Inside Sales Representative to join our Sales Team. This position will develop business rapport and ensure positive relationships with FTS customers over the phone, via email, and through other communication channels. The Inside Sales Representative provides customers and sales channel partners with product information, quotations and order processing in support of the FTS Sales Team, customers and sales channel partners. This position supports the Sales team with basic quotations, order processing, customer product and shipping enquiries, weekly performance metrics on our sales channels, and sales demo equipment inventory management. This position also assists the Marketing team in planning tradeshows and other product associated events. Customers include private land owners, and federal, provincial, municipal and state governments throughout the Americas. You bring a college diploma in a relevant technical program or other related discipline, and three years recent sales or customer service experience. We would prefer if you have experience in sales or in an occupation related to high technology products and/or environmental monitoring. You pride yourself on being highly energetic, and are a natural problem-solver. You are well-organized, and are ready to contribute to the Sales Team. You love high technology, and have excellent interpersonal and communications skills. You are proficient in the MS Office Suite of Applications and CRM systems. You have solid presentation skills, and wouldn’t mind a little travel; for example, to represent FTS at an annual trade show. We are seeking a Senior Sales Professional to join our Hydrology Department, focused on market opportunities created by our next generation water monitoring equipment, applications and software systems. This position introduces the latest hydrology monitoring solutions to various resource management agencies. Typical customers include the US Geological Survey, Water Surveys Canada, and state, provincial and municipal customers. This position works within the Eastern US territory to develop and manage accounts through the entire sales process from business development prospecting and specifications, contract negotiations, signing, and, on occasion, product installation and customer training. Helicopter rides are part of the job! You are a natural with people, easily building credible, long-lasting relationships. You enjoy working with clients to meet their needs, and help them understand the unique value which FTS can bring them. You are intuitive, curious, and you thrive independently, and in a strong team-based culture. You enjoy the outdoors for those occasional onsite visits. You bring either a science-related post-secondary degree, or technology diploma, or relevant combination of education and experience. You have at least three years experience successfully selling technology products to government departments (US or Canada); and demonstrated experience conducting presentations. Territory travel will consume about 30% of your time.
